A refreshing recipe for a filling smoothie, rich in nutrients and antioxidants, perfect for your breakfast or as a snack between meals.

What Do You Need:

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1 cup of spinach

  • Ice cubes

  • 100g orange juice

  • 100g fresh cucumber

Serving recommendations: To keep your smoothie fresh add a few more ice cubes in your serving glass. The combination between the cucumber and the coolness of the ice will be invigorating.

How to Make the Deluxe Antioxidants Smoothie?

Step 1: Peel the cucumber and banana and chop them roughly.

Step 2: Cut 2-3 oranges in half and squeeze the juice. Use a sieve to remove the fruit pulp and seeds before adding it to the blender recipient.

Step 3:  Wash the spinach leaves and add the ingredients to a blender.

Step 4: Blend for 2 minutes or until smooth. If the texture of the smoothie feels too heavy, add some water to make it easier to drink.

Bananas contain essential vitamins such as potassium, calcium, manganese, magnesium, iron, folate, niacin, riboflavin, and B6. Potassium helps to regulate the heartbeat, the blood pressure and keeps the brain alert. Bananas are full of antioxidants which can protect you from the free radicals you are in contact daily and improve overall workout performance.

Spinach is full in vitamin A, C and K and also contains magnesium, iron and manganese. Being rich in antioxidants, spinach can help fight oxidative stress and help maintain the health of your eyes.

Fresh orange juice is high in antioxidants and vitamin C and helps decrease inflammation. The vitamin C plays an essential role in strengthening your immune system. Studies show that drinking fresh orange juice can help prevent the formation of kidney stones. 

Cucumber is a magic vegetable as it is low in calories but high in nutrients. Cucumbers are high in fibres and help support a healthy gut and bowel movement regularity. Cucumbers are filling vegetables, and you will feel full for longer.

How Many Calories Are in the Deluxe Antioxidants Smoothie?

The smoothie is just under 200 calories, and if you feel like reducing the caloric intake further, replace the orange juice with some cold water.
